Personal Manifesto
These are words that I incorporate into every aspect of my life; being personal and professional. I wrote this as a reflection of who I am, but often reread it to remind myself of who I want to continue to be.
Take a deep breath and take each day as if it were your first and last.
Remember: everything is important, but nothing matters. Do not let little things ruin your day or take you away from being able to experience all the positives of life.
Embrace your past and use that to make decisions in the future. Do NOT let it hold you back. Look forward to the future, but do not get caught up in all of the possibilities of what could be or what you can do without trying to accomplish them in the present.
You cannot control what others say or do to themselves or us, but you can control how you react and respond.
Take a few deep breaths, think about what you are actually feeling, and respond accordingly.
Take all the seconds you need to feel ready because at the end of the day, how you feel matters. How they feel matters too. In thinking about yourself do not forget to think about others. Think about the people you love. Call your friends and family.
Do not be afraid to make new relationships. Do not be afraid to let love in because you hold an infinite amount that can and should be shared- even if others don’t fully appreciate it, at least YOU will have no “what if’s.”
Take some time for yourself. Try painting that picture you were thinking about, try making that recipe that you saw that sounded good, read that book you’ve been meaning to start, edit that video that you really wanted to do. Journal! Write down and document your thoughts because you know you will want to go back and look or remember certain ideas that you had. Write down that cool film concept or idea you have while trying to go to bed.
Be present. Be wherever you are whenever you are there. Talk to the people around you, look at the views from that spot, laugh until you cry, and dance, even if it’s silent.
Take your life day by day and work towards the future instead of just thinking about it. Be creative, do what you love, and take as many seconds as you need.
